From the entrance to the kitchen
The entrance greets you with yellow glazed double doors with wreaths, a bench and lanterns on the step. Inside, the hall leads straight towards the kitchen, where green drawer cabinets, a chandelier and a row of copper pans give the room a warm, slightly old-fashioned feel.
The kitchen is the heart of the archipelago house, and here the craftsmanship is on show: an island with many drawers, white tiles and open shelves for china.
Living room, dining room and bedrooms
The living room has striped wallpaper, a black chandelier and the Christmas tree in the corner. In the dining room a crystal chandelier hangs over the long table, with a gilded mirror and a fire for warmth. The bedrooms each have their own wallpaper: tartan under the sloping ceiling, floral around the fireplace.
The glazed veranda is the brightest room in the house, with lace curtains, a hanging lantern and a view of the garden. Read more about how we style a home for Christmas in Christmas styling at home.
The bathroom with the striped ceiling
The house’s best-known room is the bathroom with the green-striped ceiling, a checkerboard floor and a claw-foot tub. It has its own page: Bathroom with a striped ceiling on Yxlan.
