A white kitchen with stone worktops and a wood stove
White cabinets, white tiles and dark stone worktops. The black range sits under a large plastered hood, and a wood stove warms the corner, with a log basket and a stool in front.
A built-in bookcase with an arch and lighting stands beside a wooden butcher block – the cookbooks live where they are used. More on built-ins in Custom-built joinery.
The dining area
The dining area has a round table under a brass chandelier, a floral pelmet in the window and a glass-fronted cabinet for glasses and bottles. The table setting with green glasses and patterned plates shows the kitchen ready for a celebration. Compare it with the kitchen in the archipelago house on Yxlan.
